Hey friends

If there’s one thing that’s changed my life on this journey to self-trust and reconnecting to myself, it’s the empowerment that’s come from learning to cultivate within myself a felt sense of safety. I write about this skill a lot.

A felt sense of safety allows us to show up in more integrity. It helps us understand what we need to feel comfortable in ourselves and the environment and circumstances that support that. It’s what allows us to slow down and reconnect to our thinking brain to decide what we actually need and meet those needs, rather than react, get defensive, shut down etc.

My upcoming self-published journal, Keystone has an introductory section to practice cultivating safety in the body. It’s a necessary starting point. But until Keystone’s publication, I wanted to leave y’all with a “how to” style post on this topic.

I want you to start to recognise that the safety you crave when in certain spaces or around certain people is actually something you find and build within you. It’s not easy, but like most things, it’s a practice in learning how to access it.

And to be honest, this is a good thing.
